BULGARIA: Sofia through my lenses
Written by Laszlo, 6 March 2018
I thought it was time for a hop. A 'time-hop'. You know that I like jumping back in time, to a certain point in my life, when I carried out something exciting. If it is a sign hunting trip, these are normally nicely documented, so then I check my photos and recall lots of memories. Call it as a nostalgy.
This post has been brewing for a while, so it is time for me to take you back to November 2016 when, as a birthday present, I went to Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria. One of the most memorable flights as the ticket was ONLY £7.99 for one way - let's call this very cheap; oh god! Of course, it is ridiculously cheap!
Originally, I wanted to carry out the Sofia sign project with my wife and fellow sign hunter companion, Katie, but she overbooked herself with work and in the last moment, she had to stay at home. Shame, because Sofia was interesting, and she would have also found it awesome; maybe not the loads of stray dogs, sleeping at the airport, the freezing cold, and the all-day-worth of walking including the visit to the highly non-touristic periphery of the city (to find the sign of course). I think, one day, we will go back to Bulgaria together and we will have an extended trip to other places too. Well, you have a look at my photos and tell me if you think, Sofia, thus Bulgaria is worth a visit. I personally thought it was.
