ENGLAND: Hereford, historic cathedral city of the Marches

Recently, I have been digging my archives and realising the number of photos of so many places we have visited over the past years is actually shocking. But the good thing is that I have this website where I can share all of these photos with you, and it looks like I will not run out of post ideas for a long time. So, make sure you subscribe/follow us/come back often as I will try to keep this website updated as regularly as possible.

Today my choice has fallen on Hereford of which I have pictures from 2016. Hereford lies on the River Wye, and it is the county town of the Herefordshire county. It is a relatively small city with a population of about 60,000, but it is a historical city which means it has a cathedral. Cathedral cities, for some reason, differ from other places and they normally have a picturesque central part. Hereford nicely fits into this category as it definitely has a photogenic side which I tried to capture on the day in May 2016 when we went to have a look around and carry out the mandatory sign project. Weirdly, the day started off quite grey which then turned into very sunny, which then turned into rain. Luckily, when I was on the mission of capturing the beauty of the cathedral and its surroundings, nature blessed the moment with a sparkling, blue sky and a smooth mixture of amazing green trees.

I did not take many photos, but I hope you will enjoy checking them out. The journey starts with a walk along the River Wye, then it will take you to the cathedral, and then it will show you around inside the Old House which is a timber-framed Jacobean building built in 1621.
