ENGLAND: A historic market town: Whitchurch

Written by Laszlo, 8 October 2018

Last week, I travelled to North Shropshire twice, visiting both Whitchurch and Wem, and walked a lot in the area between these two settlements. The weather was not the most encouraging; mostly grey and it was building up for an autumn shower. Despite the weather conditions, I have taken lots of photos. In this blog post, I will present to you my photos taken in Whitchurch during the few hours I spent there, of mostly buildings facing the town centre area and the main streets.

Whitchurch is a market town in northern Shropshire near the Welsh border. It is about half-way between Shrewsbury and Chester with a population just around 10,000. Despite being a relatively small town, the architecture is absolutely fantastic. One cannot walk down a street without looking at each building with great excitement. Currently, there are over 100 listed buildings in Whitchurch. It is certainly a place that is worth exploring. Have a look at my photos!
