SCOTLAND: The most populous city in Scotland: Glasgow

Written by Laszlo, 21 May 2019

Five years after my last visit, this May, I returned to Scotland. The main reason of my travel was to visit the All Energy conference and exhibition, which during these five years have been relocated from Aberdeen to Glasgow. This, therefore, also means that five years after my last and nine years after my first visit, I returned to Glasgow! This time I got four days to explore it though! Plus, I was also invited to the conference's academic poster section where I could present my self-designed poster.

A few days before I left from home for Scotland, I did not zip up my rucksack and my photo camera fell out of it and rolled down the stairs. The body is heavy-duty and well-built, but the lens had permanently got damaged. I was luckily able to change the bayonet lock which completely snapped off, but something got wrong with the automation. While in Glasgow, luckily I was able to use it in full manual mode and got many, pretty decent photos actually. So, the good thing is that the lens, despite the damage, it is still functional and usable. Another great thing is that the conference was great and besides, I had time to explore Glasgow a bit more than before.

Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and it is the third most populous city in the United Kingdom with around 600,000 people living there. So, it is quite large, therefore, if you plan to walk around the city centre and other parts, prepare for long ones. I did 30 km just in one day, but I have managed to see many things (nowhere near everything though) and capture them in photographs. Enjoy this selection!
